Friendly Visitors
Our Friendly Visitors Program matches frail, isolated seniors with volunteers that provide companionship through weekly visits, phone calls and outings. Currently 140 seniors are matched with caring volunteers. This program gives older adults the chance to share their knowledge and experience with people of all ages and backgrounds.
How It Works
The Friendly Visitor Coordinator will arrange a "get to know you" meeting to discuss your background, interests, and the kind of friend you are looking for. He will then search our database of volunteers to find someone with similar interests. Once a volunteer is identified a meeting is set up for you and the volunteer to meet. If the match works, a friendship begins! All Friendly Visitor volunteers must pass a background check and attend an orientation prior to participating in the program.
