Thanks to the V.I.P. Rides Program,
I've been able to see my doctor regularly. "

 Links seniors and disabled individuals with volunteer to accompany/assist while traveling to appointments, grocery shopping or errands using local Paratransit. Volunteers may use their own vehicle to drive ambulatory senior or disabled individual who requires door through door service.

Volunteers provide the following assistance:

Push wheelchairs for Paratransit riders

bullet

Provide a steady arm for riders when walking or climbing stairs or if visually impaired

bullet

Assist with shopping (i.e., selecting items from shelf, pushing cart, etc.)

bullet

Carrying packages

bullet

Assist rider with reading or completing forms at appointments, if needed

bullet

Providing directional assistance (reading signs, asking for directions, etc.)

This program is a collaborative project of LIFE ElderCare, Fremont, Newark, and Union City Paratransit.

The VIP Rides Program is supported by
